I have loved sewing for as long as I can remember. Thirteen years ago I began teaching beginners how to sew at Thread & Ginger Patchwork Boutique in Victoria Point. In March 2010 I opened the Urban Sewing Lounge and until 2012 I taught regularly in both locations.

Urban Sewing has grown into a lovely community in which new sewers are welcomed, triumphs are celebrated & knowledge is shared.

I believe that sewing should be a positive and rewarding experience and that skill comes with practice. Even the most imperfect beginnings are wonderful as the new sewer experiences the delight of creating something with a needle and thread. Being part of a sewing group allows you to share that wonderful sense of achievement as you finish each project.

And of course there is always the next sewing project to plan for.
